Snowman stew

This is a fitting dish for the day-- Warm, fun, and tasty!!! Ohh the power of mashed potatoes!

Boar's Tusk

Last Monday we took advantage of the day off and beautiful weather and went hiking to Boar's Tusk. It was so much fun! Can you believe this was us one week ago? Yesterday, we came out of Church to a blizzard and today it was -4 when I took Rianne to school and that is without the WIND! We also have so much Snow! Glad we took the day when we had it.

Dust Bunny

Rianne was in the play the Princess and the Pea. She was a dust bunny, she did a very good job and can't wait for the next play! It was an elementary school play, 6th to 1st graders could try out. When I walked in to pick her up the place was packed, 98 students tried out only 62 parts. I was pretty amazed and pleased she got a part! She is not shy!

Heath's Fat Lip and funny lines!

Heath had his first experience with the dentist. He was a tough guy but when he moved while the dentist was giving him a shot, it got his lip this lasted about 2 days! He was fine while the dentist was getting out the cavity when the dentist said he got out all the cavity Heath was ready to go, the dentist said we have to fill in the hole you don't want a hole in your tooth, he said "I can have a hole I didn't like the cavity"
This Kid is a laugh a minute, He started swim lessons last week, as all the little kids are getting in the water he walked right past, I called to him and he informed me he was going off the diving board, I told him he needed to learn to swim first! Another laugh last night when he referred to the President as "Rock O' Rama"! I wish I could share another but let's just say don't let boys try on underwear that is too big they may want to get bigger parts as well!

Can snacks be fun & good for you?

These are the cute little penguin snacks we made. Ria's class seems to have a sweet treat every day. I was sick of her coming home saying today for snack we had kit kats, cookies etc. I am fine with a Birthday snack or special occasion but it was out of control no 1st grader needs that much sugar! I was determined to have a snack with no sugar and still make it fun. Cute Winter snack don't you think!

New Year New Do?

I love having long hair but it was time for a change!

I'm still getting used to the look but I must say I've enjoyed it this time. When I cut it in '03 it was hard because I was sick, so every time I looked at pictures I thought I didn't look good in short hair. I guess I was just sick. This time I feel healthy and I think it is a good change! I haven't had bangs since '96! I should have posted one with my hair all done but let me know, what you think?

Rianne is so thoughtful!

Rianne was so cute this Christmas. She came home from school and knew exactly what she wanted to get Grandma for Christmas, matching necklaces! She was pretty thoughtful with other gifts too! This Christmas I could make a list of how sweet she is.
  • We read a story every night in December (another one of those traditions I love!) One night the story was about a boy who got up early to milk cows for his Dad, A few mornings later, Rianne asked where dad was, I told her he is out starting his car and scraping the windows, she said "I don't know how to start a car, but I'll go scrape his windows", I said Rianne it's cold you don't need to do that, she responded with "But we don't have any cows!"--So cute!
  • Rianne also was trying to pick up on hints for what dad really wanted, she over heard dad talking and she came to me and said "Mom dad loves this time of year because of all the bowls, I want to get him a bowl" I was a little confused, I explained what type of Bowls he was talking about so she said what about a football bowl. We had a fun time filling his football bowl with something to represent each bowl game!--Such a daddy's girl!

I could go on and on, with Santa in his plastic belt to her pogo stick, Grandma's China Stickers, and the Christmas song with her name in it! She is the best girl, I don't know how many more Christmas's we'll have like this but it was wonderful! Kids make Christmas so fun!
