Feels like the 4th

Brant went to Chicago for work.
We really missed him and it just didn’t feel like home without him.
While he went to church here...
I took these three to church by myself, which is actually pretty typical since his new calling.

Heath wanted a buddy shot Sunday morning.
We love when he puts just one arm around our necks it is so cute.
This one is the best buddy shot
I thought Bennett was just missing Dad and the night time routine but Monday morning I noticed he was getting a tooth!  That explains the rough night.  That funny feeling in his mouth must make him do that razz sound more often.  I love his little monkey face (how he sticks his little lips out) concerntrates really hard to make it too :)
Brant had a good time and probably got a little more sleep than he would have.  He missed us too, he wrote us all little notes and we wrote him welcome home messages on his mirror.

We made preparations for the 4th of July. We decorated cookies and made butter mints they don’t look as pretty as Natalie’s but they taste delicious.
We went to the ward pancake breakfast and then to the parade. My kids are not used to a parade that goes this long and where they don’t throw candy but put it in your bag.
It was more like Halloween but Home of the FREE my kids made a haul! By the end Rianne was using her umbrella to hold all the goodies!

We enjoyed seeing friends and feel so blessed to have such wonderful Flagstaff friends.
We came back home and had lunch, Bennett enjoyed a milk popsicle.

I also tried out some fun red, white and blue punch, Brant mixed the drinks like a science project, He was pretty impressed.

We played what’s more American?  The kids would give things like mom what is more american cheeseburgers or hotdogs, etc we played this game almost ALL day.
The kids and dad played kickball in the yard, until it got dark and we headed over to the mall for some fireworks (the bagger at Safeway said it would be a laser show), it wasn’t.  While we waited we played props with the glow necklaces and it felt like Flagstaff with the car parked next to us with a bumper sticker that said dogs are people too. When we read it to Heath, he said “that’s wierd dogs are dogs but are there people dogs?” We answered with "yo dawg". He did not find us as funny as we did.  It was, of course, Bennett’s 1st 4th, and he loved the lights from the fireworks and the glow sticks.  It was a cold 4th of July.
We broke out the sparklers to end our evening.
We are so grateful to live in this country and pray for it to remain one that serves God… One nation under Him and in Him we trust!
