Heath Reuion

We went to Park City, UT for a family reunion. Here is 3 of the 5 siblings

We went to Olympic park the zip line and alpine slide were on a rain delay so we messed around in the museum and watched ski jumpers jump into a pool, which was very enetertaining..
through this simulation i realized some day I need to ski for real

Heath is a natural

Then the rides opened we rode the zip line it was very fun. We got in line for the alpine slide. A slight sprinkle, we waited in line and then my sister wouldn’t claim me as family. My sister’s kids went down the slide and then Cheri (my sister) was the last one down before they closed the ride due to the rain. Then the radio asked the slide attendant: Did you send down any empty sled? He answered back: no, who was the last person you saw? Radio: Some M&M’s.
At first I thought maybe Cheri just hit the brakes and got out. Apparently when the slide is wet the brakes don’t work, Cheri was thrown from the sled and ended up breaking her finger and having some joints in her hand dislocated. I felt bad, but lucky it was just her hand. I was teasing her that was punishment for not claiming me as her sister ;)
Brant & the kids did get to swim in the pool in the afternoon when the weather was better.
Heath is getting to be a pretty good little swimmer. Rianne is a flipping fish, tried to catch her tricks.
We didn’t get to visit with everyone as much as we had hoped but I suppose there is never enough time. we sure do have a good time together, my dad says you can pick your nose and you can pick your friends but don't pick your friends nose... what about this
Chad totally picked me for a sister
I’m so glad Nancy and Larry were able to make it.
These two are amazing and have been very influential in my life. Here is a group of us at breakfast the last day
Now everyone in my immediate family (except Salina, she was at girls camp) has met Bennett. Chad enjoyed growling at him and teasing him.
Natalie is also one of the family, she is related to Larry & Jeff who married in so we figure she counts. I was SO glad she came, I always feel so selfish but I just have to see her and she gave me just the advice I needed. I need a balance of gratitude and hope… just to feel more contentment.
I’ll be working on it. Thanks for taking our pictures too!
My niece is expecting in December so I’m glad Bennett will have a buddy a year younger just like Ria and Heath do. Thanks for making the trip over, sure do love you Murf. So fun watching grandpa with the grandkids,
when we first got there he was right there asking to hold Benny.  Yes Joseph we consider the reunion trip a success.

We got back in time for little man to be 6 months old I can’t believe it, He is sitting up and is a true stripling warrior (momma’s boy) I love this age.

Feels like the 4th

Brant went to Chicago for work.
We really missed him and it just didn’t feel like home without him.
While he went to church here...
I took these three to church by myself, which is actually pretty typical since his new calling.

Heath wanted a buddy shot Sunday morning.
We love when he puts just one arm around our necks it is so cute.
This one is the best buddy shot
I thought Bennett was just missing Dad and the night time routine but Monday morning I noticed he was getting a tooth!  That explains the rough night.  That funny feeling in his mouth must make him do that razz sound more often.  I love his little monkey face (how he sticks his little lips out) concerntrates really hard to make it too :)
Brant had a good time and probably got a little more sleep than he would have.  He missed us too, he wrote us all little notes and we wrote him welcome home messages on his mirror.

We made preparations for the 4th of July. We decorated cookies and made butter mints they don’t look as pretty as Natalie’s but they taste delicious.
We went to the ward pancake breakfast and then to the parade. My kids are not used to a parade that goes this long and where they don’t throw candy but put it in your bag.
It was more like Halloween but Home of the FREE my kids made a haul! By the end Rianne was using her umbrella to hold all the goodies!

We enjoyed seeing friends and feel so blessed to have such wonderful Flagstaff friends.
We came back home and had lunch, Bennett enjoyed a milk popsicle.

I also tried out some fun red, white and blue punch, Brant mixed the drinks like a science project, He was pretty impressed.

We played what’s more American?  The kids would give things like mom what is more american cheeseburgers or hotdogs, etc we played this game almost ALL day.
The kids and dad played kickball in the yard, until it got dark and we headed over to the mall for some fireworks (the bagger at Safeway said it would be a laser show), it wasn’t.  While we waited we played props with the glow necklaces and it felt like Flagstaff with the car parked next to us with a bumper sticker that said dogs are people too. When we read it to Heath, he said “that’s wierd dogs are dogs but are there people dogs?” We answered with "yo dawg". He did not find us as funny as we did.  It was, of course, Bennett’s 1st 4th, and he loved the lights from the fireworks and the glow sticks.  It was a cold 4th of July.
We broke out the sparklers to end our evening.
We are so grateful to live in this country and pray for it to remain one that serves God… One nation under Him and in Him we trust!
