Movin' on up

My kids are movin’ on.  Bennett is FINALLY starting to communicate mostly signs but it is coming and everyday he is moving and climbing up on something.  Heath was awarded most athletic for the 2nd year in row he says next year he is going for science award J.  He is movin’ on to the gifted program.  The day school got out I got the 3rd call to have him play club basketball that starts for 2nd graders (I’m still resisting it).  For now I am pleased with his academic and athletic skills. I can’t believe he will be moving on to 2nd grade!
Rianne with be moving on and up to middle school!  She received some awards at the end of school too.  The Lamp of Knowledge for someone who worked hard to always do her best she worked very hard for her 4.0.  I would have never guessed I would have kids who do so well in school.  She also got a medal for performance, which she was perfect for.  She was in every play they offered and loves it.  Time is moving too fast but I am glad that traditions last,

we enjoyed the School’s Out shaving cream party.

O mOm

These 2 woman make the M’s in mom for me.  I have said if I could be ½ as good as either one of them I would consider myself successful.  When I tell them they just roll their eyes and say O Jana.  So I am the O in MoM sandwiched somewhere in the middle of miraculous and marvelous.  O to be as smart as Mary O to have her wisdom.  Most people think they can just Google the answers, my kids say “call Grandma Mary”.  I know there is nothing Grandma Mary can’t do.  She gave me great insight at just the right time when I was a new mom.  She reassured me that I could be a mom and myself.  Also in a mom breaking moment with Heath she changed the way I saw the situation it feels so much better to be on his team.  I could go on and on because she has helped us and been such a marvelous mom to me and my family.  I am in the middle of trying to be a mom like Mary.  I could dwell on the O and never feel that hOle or spend my moments in motherhood feeling like I’m never going to be good at this.  But I am also trying to ½ as good as my mom.  She has a gift of seeing what people can be and not where they are.   She is the master of hope and faith her encouragement has helped me through the toughest moments of my life.  She is so good with Heath maybe it helps that she too was once in the middle of raising someone just like him.  She gives me hope and believes in me whenever I doubt.  She is always reassuring me that I am a good mom.  Sometimes I just call to hear her voice she was my comfort as a child and still gives me such comfort!  O how blessed I am to have such great examples to try to balance being in the middle of trying to be ½ as good as.  Happy Mother’s Day to these Marvelous and Miraculous women.  O how I enjoy being in the middle of motherhood thanks to these 2.  And to my 3 I feel honored to be able to be your mother I hope they feel my lOve for them and though I fall short of these two at least my kids get aMazing grandmas.

sports nuts

There is no doubt we love sports at this house but sometimes I think we’ve gone completely nuts we drag this lil’ peanut to EVERYTHING.

Good thing he is pretty chill because he has sat (ok he is so busy there has been little sitting) through more sports this spring! Basketball finished this spring
Heath and Rianne both loved playing it
Brant has also been enjoying it on Friday nights with the missionaries.  I never thought it was possible but I started to get a little volleyball burn out
from Rianne playing club me being the volleyball coordinator at the YMCA and coaching all 4 teams at some point and of course CHS open gyms.

Brant won tickets to the Diamond Backs and Dodgers game that was pretty cool.
We also went to the NAU spring football game our last chance hanging out with the Udall’s.
Brant also started city league softball.  We are nuts!

When life gives you lemons

Add limes.  We left on Friday made a quick stop in Kanab then to Cedar City for Lacee’s graduation.  I am bummed we didn’t get any pictures besides this one of Heath.

I know Alvin got some.  Someone asked me why she isn’t married yet (which I think is a weird question) but I said she is too awesome.  Although after this weekend I’m a little nervous that when she does she’ll be expecting a performance from meJ.  Then we visited with our friends Vern and Jen crashed at Mikkel and Jerron’s and got an early start the next day so we could do a session before Emily’s wedding. The sealing was really good.  Then the Toone’s met us in st George for a great visit.  Then back to Kanab for Em’s reception.  It was so cute complete with a lemonade stand, photo booth and dancing.
I have decided that weddings into the Brown family are a lot like converting to the gospel.  I think when those people are learning the gospel and they know it is true so they want to be a part of it but they can’t really comprehend how awesome it is and how it gets better the more involved they are.  They just don’t know how lucky they are to come into the gospel.  I have thought it was just because my nieces and nephews are too good but that those joining the Brown’s just don’t know how awesome it is and I worry they won’t get as involved as they should.  This is my niece Kelsey
when I saw her at the luncheon my heart was so happy to see her, my friend saw this picture and said she is so cute and I told her how she is headed to Nebraska to get her masters basically saying how awesome she is and my friend said I should find her a man here in AZ I said because she is too good for all of them.  But ya know lemons and limes go pretty good together and so far the Brown’s have picked pretty good limes.
